Creating Art

Twenty-one environmental artists from around the globe will exhibit their installations at IPark, a 480-acre private artist's retreat in Connecticut, this Saturday. I've been documenting their progress and it's been great fun spending all day out in the woods capturing creativity at work. Here's a preview of piece by Korean artist Bonggi, a serpentine, hand-sawn wooden footbridge which leads to a sort of delicate, oval-shaped cage made from found branches. More to come...

Environmental Art takes Center Stage at IPark

One of my favorite assignments: Twenty-one environmental artists from around the globe will exhibit their installations at IPark, a 480-acre private artist's retreat in Connecticut, this Saturday. Mary Travers

Mary Travers

Mary Travers, the flaxen blonde singer of the 1960s trio, "Peter, Paul and Mary," died last night at Danbury Hospital. I photographed her in 2005 well after she had been diagnosed with cancer and was in remission. I remember feeling concerned about capturing the spirit of someone who most remember as a beauty, but who now was somewhat ravaged by disease. I found these photos last night, and in retrospect I think they show her inner strength and beauty.

Ralph Lauren stores drew Camille Belle, actress,  and Blake Lively, of Gossip Girls. But it was all about Nacho..

Nacho is calling me

Assignment:  Photograph Argentine polo player,  Nacho Figueras, considered the top polo player in the world, and the face behind Ralph Lauren  iconic men's line.  Polo anyone? Oh, yes.
